THE TALK

We went out for dinner and the temp was 86.  I had a bit of sunstroke but I am feeling better.  What a lousy feeling.  Stopped by Walmart for supplies a  30 pack of Coors cost  $ 22.97..a 6pack of smirnof coolers cost $8.47, a 12 pack of ginger ale cost $3.68.  At the liquor store  a 1.75 litre of Royal Reserve rye..cost $14.98.  Went  for dinner, 10 oz ribeye steak with salad and a baked potato for 2 ..$28.00.   We saw signs today in Fort Worth selling new homes starting at $120.000.00.....really..  So we have been on the road 2 weeks today. Sometimes we wake up and can't remember where we are, we have had several time changes so we never know the correct time lol.  So it was time today to have the talk...what are we going to do next.   We have discovered that we could retire in Costa Ricca and live high on the hog for less than half of what we spend a month in Edmonton.   We did a pros and cons list.  Pros..higher standard of living...great weather (Costa Rica is not in the hurricane zones),  simpler life style, fresher food with less chemicals, great health care, low crime rates, lots of opportunity for travel, ..if you star a business the first $80,000.00 is tax free for Americans and Canadians.   cons..being away from the boys, family and friends..language barrier.    So what do you think...some comments would be appreciated. We are so happy we  hit the road.  We were talking about some of our friends that never did get the chance to just drop it all and go exploring.  A friends brother in law died on Sat. from a heart attack..he was in his early 50's.  Our friend Jim Stainbrook died way to early from a heart attack, Terry's friend Don Topping died in his forties from a heart attack, Gary Thornton smashed up his truck and died before 50, Lon Zeigler smashed up his motorcycle and died just before 50,  Rod Booth was killed on the highway ..he was only 37.   My younger sister has had open heart surgery  at the age of 48 and is still not well, we have had two friends survive heart attacks.  Terry has had his own health issues and I have fought a battle or two of my own.  Life is short...sometimes we need to just go with the flow.  Well, that is enough about that.  Hope all is well at home.
