Made it to Fort Worth Texas today.

We left Jackson Ississippim this morning and have now made it to Fort Worth Texas..just in time for happy hour!!  Nothing to exciting in the last 24 hrs, we had a crummy dinner last night.  We decided we wanted to walk to something close to the hotel.  We ended up at a chain called "Shonny's".....poor food , even worse service.  We have been booking in to the Best Western hotels lately..they have good comfortable beds, free internet, smoking rooms and a continental breakfast.  We tried a few cheaper hotels but were not very comfortable..so I guess you get what you pay for.   When we left Jackson we were in a wicked rain storm.  People seem to have trouble driving in the rain as many vehicles went off the road, Terry figures bad tires are the cause.  We see lots of blown tires all over the highways.  The highways are very clean, we have seen signs posted claiming fines of up to $5000.00 for littering.  I think we are heading to Amarillo Texas tomorrow.  The scenery looks amazing, we may stay there for 2 days.  Want to spend a little time by the pool.  We have put about 4000 miles on the truck, good thing it is so comfortable and glad we didn't take my car.  I had never driven the truck until now, I love it, I wonder how Terry is going to feel about driving the Impala when we get home!!  I drove thru Dallas during rush hour (we always end up getting to our next destination during rush hour), this was the heaviest traffic we have seen so far.  Driving into Fort Worth was crazy...very congested, or as Terry would say..GRIDLOCK !  Could not imagine doing that trip twice a day.  We are heading out for some Mexican food for dinner and we can actually walk  (stagger ) from our hotel to the restaurant.  Well that is all about that.  Hope everyone at home is well.
