We have stayed in a few hotels in our lifetime, the worst being a motel 8 in Revelstoke British Columbia. When we get to a hotel we always pull the bedspread off and sit on the bed to watch T.V. When we decided to get under the blankets we discovered that the sheets had not been changed. How did we know this...the BLOOD was a dead giveaway. The best hotel we ever stayed at was the McDonald hotel in Edmonton, Alberta. There was a time that you could go to a hotel with out bringing along to many toiletries. They usually provided laundry bags, shoe shine thingies, soap, shampoo, cream rinse, moisturizer of some sort, coffee pots with coffee, blow dryers, some have put chocolates on our pillows, made funny animals out of our towels...and if you forgot your toothbrush they would provide these as well. Hard times have certainly caused some cut backs. While we are not on a tight budget for this adventure we don't need to stay in any fancy digs, we just need a clean room (that we can smoke in) yeah, yeah don't need any comments posted about this(John lol). We actually stayed in a hotel along our route in Sioux Falls that didn't even provide shampoo...are you kidding me, WTF. This was a Super 6 motel (of course you get what you pay for) that didn't even have a clock. Man I hope we can get home without bringing bed bugs with us. All of our Best Western hotels have been great so far we are building points with them for me to use when I hopefully head out to Ontario in June. Anyway that is all I have to say about that.
