the Smokey Mountains

Temperature today 86 !!!!   Yesterday we took in the beautiful Smokey Mountains....what a sight.  The mountains were very nice to look at but nothing like our Rocky Mountains at home.  What was amazing was the actual drive.  Lots of hills, and exciting bends in the road, would have been awesome to do that trip on the motorcycle.  There were two towns we hit before the mountains..one was Gatlinburg, the other was  Pigeon Forge.   They are certainly big tourist attractions,  but are just so pretty.  Think of driving down the main street of Banff Alberta and multiplying this by 10.  We didn't stop at either one because it was so busy, there was also an antique car rally going on for as far as the eye can see.  We watched this from the comfort of our truck as they were travelling in the other direction and many were on the side streets.    On an other note, if you like to shop the U.S.  is the place to be.  We have passed so many outlet malls, antique shops, and the largest flea markets I have ever seen.  (Terry's parents must have been in their glory here).  The weather has been very hot, we have not broke out the shorts yet (mainly because we don't own any).   I am hoping the shopping urge will hit me but that would be unusual.  The road stops here are incredible..Canada could take notice of this.  They are all very clean, have vending machines, and many have free internet.  I was driving today when we hit a massive rain storm, just ahead of us a car went over  a steep embankment , Terry figures he was hydro  something or other..you know...when your tires aren't connecting with  the cement...just skimming over the water on the road...frick I hate when I can't find my words.   Oh...by  the way..why has no one commented on how I spelled

Martin Luther King...I can't find spellcheck and I know there are many of you that would love the chance to correct me.   Obviously spelling and grammar are one more of my weaknesses.  I can see my high school english teacher Mrs. Nagel looking at me over her glasses...still...again.   We stopped yesterday to get gas and right next to us was something we have never seen before.  It was a street legal Roadster Trike(we did get pictures)..worth about $60,000.00 and made in Montreal .  I told Terry he could pick one up for his 55 birthday this week lol.  Look up campagnamotors.com.   The passenger of this ride was filling it with gas...I asked him if he would like a ride in our truck..I was looking to get a ride in his toy...he didn't fall for it..I guess I am loosing my touch...not that I ever had one lol. Well we have made it to Jackson Ippississim and we will plan out our next day.   Oh, also,  you must remember that Terry got 2 extra hugs the other day.  So not to be outdone ( meaning I need to compete) I decided I was on a mission to collect a couple of hugs today.  When we stopped for breakfast at Cracker Barrel , I asked the pleasant hostess if I could spread the Canadian love and give her a hug (Terry was mortified, you think he would be  used to this by now) and she was so thrilled.  Before we left she gave us 2 gift packages of chocolate covered raisons and I got another hug.  So  we are even in the hug dept.  I guess I won't do this anymore because it did make Terry uncomfortable....WTF...Well this is it for today..hope all is well at home.
