On the road again

Well we were off to a slow start, left later than we thought we would, but we are on the road again.  We had very poor internet service on the road therefore no blogging.  The drive across Saskatchewan and Manitoba were uneventful.  By the time we hit Ontario my eyeballs were screaming for something...anything...to look at...besides flat land and straight boring highways.  Now I am sure the people from these provinces are nice, I am sure there are a lot of beautiful spots, but not along the trans Canada highway.  I must admit going thru Sask we did see some beautiful fields of golden canola.  The sky happened to be the darkest shade of blue, the clouds were large and fluffy puffs of white tinged with grey.  The spruce trees were dark green, the poplars a light green and one lone dead spruce was the nicest color of burnt orange....almost brought out the artist in me if I was one.  As we drove thru Ontario our senses were stimulated...such a pretty province.  I forgot all about the Laurention mountains, they aren't the Rockies but beautiful non the less.  We have become addicted to Timmies Iced caps...another habit to break when we get home.   7 days on the road and we have cooked all our meals on our new bar-be-que and have slept in the new trailer so we are saving lots of money.  Well this is if for now, I will tell you about Ontario tomorrow and of course the fun stuff is coming up.  Hope all is well at home for everyone.   This song about Saskatchewan was the best part of Sask...this group played at John and Rebecca's wedding.

ROAD TRIP COMING ON !

We are really, really, for sure..leaving on a road trip...tomorrow.  We are going to cook our way across Canada.   Funny thing is, when we moved back to the city the thing I was looking forward to the most was eating out!  I can count on one hand how many times we ate out in the last 2 yrs , I found the city to be to noisy...to fast paced and to crowded.  So I resorted to ordering in a couple of times a month usually Chinese or my fav food of all pizza.   I have discovered in the last year that I  have an intolerance to wheat so there goes the pizza  .  Most of you know that Terry lost his job....no work for him right now, so a road trip it is .  I don't want to eat in restaurants (I can't believe I just wrote that) so I decided I would cook most of our meals.  I also want to tent it for part of the time and spend half the time in hotels so now I can control the food we eat.  I have become a *food snob* lately after discovering I cook food way better than what I would order in a restaurant.  Not the fancy dinners but your basics.  I want to save our food budget for seafood when we hit the east coast.  Here is where we have a difference of opinion, Terry wants to hotel it and if we don't he thinks we should bring a microwave with us  (real man type camping!!)     So this reminded me of something.  Back In May 1997 we had a free boat,  1969 14ft with 45HP motor, we had 2 teens, 2 adults, and a dog.  The boat didn't have a ladder and I had difficulty getting into the boat from the water so our solution was....lets just buy a boat with a ladder..right..logical thinking, why just buy a ladder.   Well the next problem was..we had no where to store the boat.   August 1997 we bought the cabin..we just needed a place to store the boat!!!    Now this is where I go back to our difference of opinion..do we tent it or do we hotel it..we compromised...we bought a trailer..logical thinking don't you agree?  Now here is the next issue... where will we park the trailer?  Well....my type of logic says...why not store it at the lake ?  As some of you know we put the cabin up for sale.....maybe it is just not to be!  (insert smiley face here).
